This morning, a massive pig farm burned in the village of Davydovskoye, Kolchugino District. Emergency services received a call about the fire at around 6:10 AM. Firefighters from the Kolchugino Garrison immediately responded. The first unit arrived at the blazing farm within 12 minutes. At the time of the fire, the farm housed 113 pigs and 60 goats.
The fire covered 600 square meters. At least 100 pigs died. There were no injuries. Fourteen Ministry of Emergency Situations personnel and six pieces of equipment participated in the fire cleanup. The Ministry of Emergency Situations' operational reports did not mention the fate of the goats. "Of the 14 animals in the building, only 6 were rescued." The cause of the fire and the damage to the property of the farmers are still being investigated.
