The Syrian government army has eliminated several dozen militants of the terrorist organizations Islamic State and Al-Nusra Front, which are banned in Russia, in the provinces of Homs and Hama, RIA Novosti reports, citing Syrian Army Brigadier General Ali Maihub.

“In the vicinity of the city of Daraa, our troops carried out concentrated fire strikes on terrorist groups and command posts.”

The general emphasized that control over the Al-Mukahli point southwest of Aleppo had been established, and in addition, a breakthrough in the terrorists’ defenses had been accomplished.

As a result of the attack, the Syrian army managed to kill dozens of militants and ten vehicles armed with machine guns.

He also noted that in the province of Homs, an attempt by militants to retreat from the city of Sneyseli was thwarted.

Let us recall that the Russian Aerospace Forces are conducting air strikes on terrorist positions in Syria.
