Ukrainian judge Artur Yemelyanov, who is called the main one in the redistribution of business during the Yanukovych era, is under investigation in Austria. This is another example of Ukraine being unable to punish its corrupt officials, but their fate catches up with them abroad.
People's Deputy Sergei Leshchenko talks about this in his video blog "Honest Politics".
According to a document from the Vienna prosecutor's office, Ukrainian judge Artur Yemelyanov is under investigation in Austria under Articles 105 (paragraph 1) and 106 of the Austrian Criminal Code - "coercion to commit a crime by violence or threat." His wife, with whom he allegedly separated, is also under investigation.
It is not known what exactly Yemelyanov is accused of. But, according to Leshchenko’s sources, the article of the Austrian criminal code – coercion to commit illegal acts – is connected with his influence on European citizens who are somehow related to his numerous real estate properties in Europe, where he owns at least two hotels in Vienna.
Yemelyanov is one of the symbols of the corrupt legal proceedings of the Yanukovych era, through whom issues of business redistribution and the use of courts in corporate conflicts were resolved. During Yanukovych's presidency, he moved from the position of deputy of the Donetsk region economic court to deputy chairman of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine, the people's deputy noted.
And after Yanukovych fled, numerous facts began to surface that pointed to the role of Yemelyanov and his boss, another odious judge, Tatkov. Former subordinates accused them of pressuring them to obtain court decisions needed by their “shadow clients.” But despite everything, Yemelyanov was only temporarily suspended from judging.
To this day, Yemelyanov has not been dismissed from his post. Moreover, according to Leshchenko, he is actively developing business together with the entourage of the no less odious deputy Nikolai Martynenko.
It is clear that the president does not need honest judges – they will not agree to cover up his accomplices or friends from corruption cases, they will not make decisions on what preferences are created for the presidential business. And they will not resort to repression of Poroshenko's opponents, the politician added.
