Paid broadcast: MuzArt's lead singer makes money by broadcasting her son's wedding

Saken Megaziev, lead singer of the band "MuzArt," married his eldest son. The musician paid to broadcast the wedding live, according to the KTK television channel's website.

Kazakhstanis will be able to watch the wedding of Maigaziyev's son live, but tickets will cost 1380 tenge.

An estimated 8000 people watched the wedding. Some internet users calculated that Magaziyev earned around 11 million tenge from the livestream.

The State Tax Commission became interested in this method of making money.

"In this case, the 1380 tenge fee for access to an online event (online wedding) is considered a business activity aimed at generating income. Therefore, the taxpayer must ensure that taxes are paid to the budget in accordance with its provisions," the tax department noted. It should be noted that the payment made via QR code was credited not to the account of individual entrepreneur S. Maigaziyev, but to the account of the live stream organizer.
