Pakistan is interested in concluding a free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the country's prime minister announced. Nawaz Sharif, who is on a visit to Kazakhstan.

As the Pakistani Prime Minister notes, the conclusion of such a union will directly facilitate subsequent fruitful cooperation between representatives of the Eurasian Financial Union and Pakistan's business community. Islamabad is counting on assistance from Kazakhstan, which, as an active member of the EAEU, can support Pakistan's accession to the common market. "Bilateral trade between our countries is far below our own capacity."

"We simply need to make an effort to utilize all available options while exploring new avenues of cooperation. Pakistan has always sought to develop its ties with Central Asia, and this provides an opportunity to create a win-win situation for everyone," he said. In the first half of this year, trade turnover reached $25,9 million. Today, August 26, the Pakistani prime minister will hold personal talks with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
