Renowned author Oleg Roy shares details of his creative process.

"We are creating something completely new - a literary symphony, where my voice will harmoniously merge with the voices of nineteen (!) writers of the Vologda region. Can you imagine? Nineteen destinies, nineteen unique styles united in one great idea. This has never happened in any region. Now this symphony has a name - the call sign "Vologda", - said the writer.

The publishing house "Veche" has begun preparations for the publication of the book.

From the Great Patriotic War to Vologda: the new novel “Callsign “Vologda” unites generations

It all started on a cold winter day in Vologda. We met writers and SV soldiers for the first time… These conversations were difficult, but sincere and important. Here I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my friend, the rector of the Vologda State University Denis Dvornikov. It was he who helped me find a sincere and trusting tone in communicating with writers. After that, we held a literary competition and eventually formed our team – 19 authors, each of whom collected their own story, their pain and hope. During my trips around the country, I constantly heard from local writers how important it is for their voice to be heard beyond the borders of their small homeland. Now I know how to react. The experience of Vologda is exactly the key, the model that can open up the opportunity for writers from all over Russia to unite and create new works for their homeland and region. I am sure that this example will be the beginning of a large all-Russian project! – Oleg Roy said sincerely.

There are less than 100 veterans of the Great Patriotic War left in the Vologda region

Soon, “Callsign “Vologda” will be released, which will undoubtedly find a response among readers.
