"He is neither the first nor the last to be denied entry": The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the situation with Nurlan Saburov

On the sidelines of the Majilis, Deputy Foreign Minister Alibek Bakayev stated that Nurlan Saburov did not ask them for help, our website's correspondent reports.

"He didn't contact the Kazakh Embassy in Moscow, nor did he formally contact the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The situation is quite simple: the person is a citizen of Kazakhstan, and if the Russian Federation has taken such an action against him, then it's an internal decision of the country, governed by its laws and regulations. Therefore, it's difficult to comment on the decisions of a third country.

I think he is not the first and not the last person to be banned from entering a particular country for a certain period of time,” Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Bakayev stated.

He added that such issues are resolved individually by each person.

"If there's a need—I'm not just talking about Nurlan Saburov but other citizens as well—if he needs to travel to a particular country, and there's a ban, he decides on an individual basis. He can hire lawyers and attorneys and appeal the decision. All of this is regulated not by our country, but by the laws of the country imposing such bans," added on.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan was also asked about the possible status of Nurlan Saburov's property in Russia.

"That's a good question. I think such matters are also regulated by the laws of the country where he is located. They are also resolved through the authorities of that state, the courts, and other bodies. He is a citizen of Kazakhstan, and we have nothing to do with this (property issues in Russia – editor's note)," added Alibek Bakaev.

As a reminder, it was previously reported that Kazakhstani comedian Nurlan Saburov has been banned from entering Russia for 50 years. He was reportedly detained at Moscow's Vnukovo Airport, where he arrived from Dubai.

The Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs commented on the situation. The ministry clarified that the artist or his legal representatives had not contacted the Kazakh Embassy in Russia.

On February 7, Nurlan Saburov flew to Almaty.

Today, Deputy Prosecutor General Galymzhan Koigeldiev spoke about the situation surrounding Saburov on the sidelines of the Majilis.
