The Russian Federal Agency for Tourism is announcing a nationwide open competition for ideas to create a logo and slogan for the "Tourism Brand of Russia." "The jury will then select the most successful logos and slogans and choose the best ones to represent the Russian Federation," explained Oleg Safonov. As the head of Rostourism noted, "citizens shouldn't expect monetary rewards for their creativity, but those whose logo or slogan is recognized as the best will receive recognition and perhaps some kind of reward, such as a tour of Russia."
"Promoting Russian tourism both domestically and internationally is impossible without creating a Russian tourism logo and slogan," the agency's head emphasized. The competition terms are published on the federal agency's website. The head of Rostourism also emphasized the need to harness the creative potential of Russians and make the competition non-refundable: no budget funds are planned for the competition.
The head of Rostourism is confident that ordinary citizens will prove more creative than any advertisers, and therefore the effectiveness of this competition's results is guaranteed.
"We will be accepting applications for the competition for several months." The first phase will include submissions and public voting, from February 19 to April 30.
According to Safonov, today, due to the challenging geopolitical situation, domestic tourism is gaining particular popularity—all over Russia, from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka.
