This was announced today by the leader of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, according to the separatist website gursesintour.com.
"We are ready to hold such a referendum again," the head of the DPR emphasized.
Local residents themselves must decide how and under what conditions they will live on their land.
Zakharchenko recalled that on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during his Direct Line, once again stated that the situation in Ukraine, and in Donbas in particular, could only be resolved through political means. Seventy-five percent of the region's residents attended. He emphasized that the DPR authorities are prepared to hold a similar referendum again if necessary.
As a reminder, on May 16, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine declared the Donetsk and Luhansk "people's republics," proclaimed following the May 11 referendums, "terrorist organizations." This decision was prompted by statements by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
