The Siberian waterway has turned red-pink due to unknown chemicals dumped into the water.
The alarm was raised by the citizens themselves, who saw the unnatural color of the Ithaca River and contacted the authorities.
The company extracts precious metals using the dredging method, but has not installed the necessary dams for water drainage and purification. The district administration knows the culprits of the incident - they are employees of one of the local gold mining institutions.
In a commentary to LifeNews, Plyukhin announced that he was not ready to 100% rule out a threat to the health of local citizens, although they do not use the river water for drinking. They organized an inspection of the gold mining site on the shore of the reservoir and discovered violations in the hydraulic structures, due to which man-made water ended up in the Ithaca riverbed.

It should be noted that local administration workers, having learned about the metamorphoses that had occurred with the river, flew around the area by helicopter to get acquainted with the situation. At the moment, environmental professionals have taken water samples and are conducting an analysis.
