Rosstat has announced forecasts of possible layoffs that could cost about 52 Russians their jobs. Already at the end of September, the wave of layoffs will most significantly affect the manufacturing industry, public administration, and education.
Part of the reason for job losses is the long-term decline in incomes. People do not have the means to buy products, so there is no need to produce them in such quantities. Thus, Russians may lose their jobs as a result of company liquidations or staff reductions. However, this wave of layoffs is estimated to be minimal compared to 2016.
