The Russian Federation wants to introduce a self-driving car for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

According to him, Russian engineers are currently doing everything possible to ensure such vehicles are operational by 2018. Russia thus aims to develop driverless cars two years ahead of Japan. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich made this statement at a science and technology council in Japan today, October 4, according to gursesintour.com. "It's not easy, but I think we will succeed in such projects," Dvorkovich declared. One example of such innovation is expected to be a driverless car.

At the opening of the forum, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced that his country is developing a self-driving car to present at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

He also announced the state's intention to support the implementation of this idea, and, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, Russian development and research funds will handle financial and organizational issues.
