These natural phenomena occur when warm, moist air rises high into the sky. Eventually, the column of air or wind rises to a significant height, and the moist air begins to cool and condense into water droplets. This condensation collects into clouds and, after about 15 or 20 minutes, pours back out as rain. It turns out that not all mushroom clouds are terrifying.
