According to reliable information at the moment Kirin 950 should be equipped with four 64-bit Cortex-A72 cores with a clock rate of up to 2,4 GHz, and four more equally weak Cortex-A53 cores with a frequency of up to 1,5 GHz. It will allegedly integrate the Mali-T880, the most productive accelerator of those presented by ARM. The invitation contains an image of the Kirin chip.
The chipset will also use the Mali-T880 video chip and support LPDDR4 RAM.
Judging by the available leaks with the results of the processor research, the prototype with it surpasses Samsung flagships equipped with its own Exynos 7420. Production Kirin 950 Taiwanese chipmaker TSMC will be involved in the 16-nanometer FinFET process technology.
The debut of the Huawei Mate 8 phone based on the Kirin 950, with a 6-inch screen with QHD resolution (1440 x 2560 pixels), 3 or 4 GB of RAM, 32 or 64 GB of built-in flash memory, a 21-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel front camera.
