Russian private airline Transaero was unable to pay off its debt, which together with leasing obligations amounts to about 250 billion rubles.
In the summer, Deputy General Director for Commerce at RN-Aero, Kirill Molodenkov, reported that Transaero’s debt to Rosneft structures for supplied fuel was approximately 3,66 billion rubles.
According to reliable information from the source, RN-Aero, which is part of the Rosneft group, and other suppliers in 2014-2015 refueled Transaero aircraft on time, despite the airline’s violation of the terms of the agreement on fuel payment.
Rosneft does not officially participate in the group of companies dealing with the issue of the debts of the bankrupt Transaero, although it does not want to remain on the sidelines.
RN-Aero revised the repayment terms of Transaero debt a couple of times. "Nevertheless, fuel suppliers did not stop refueling aircraft, working at a loss," gursesintour.com said. The plan, approved by management in mid-September, to transfer three-quarters of the shares of the troubled air carrier to Aeroflot for subsequent rehabilitation fell through.
