According to Tsipras, Europe still “lives in the illusion of being the center of the universe.”
Alexis Tsipras, probably referring to the Russian Federation, informed that “the role of a country that wants to succeed and pursues such a multilateral policy with many countries is today the most relevant in the international space.”
“We need to take into account the shift in the center of gravity of economic development in the world,” Tsipras urged.
He also stated Greece’s intention to use the bridges built with partners to improve business relations between states, including with Russia.
"A new wound of instability in the heart of Europe."
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras admitted why the decision was made to attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, but not to participate in the negotiations in Brussels. "Because instead of prosperity and economic cooperation, processes have begun in the region that lead to war, militarization and the introduction of sanctions," he explained. "This vicious circle must be broken as soon as possible," RIA Novosti quotes Tsipras as saying. The course of belt tightening leads us nowhere.
"The so-called Greek problem is a problem for the entire EU and concerns its entire structure."
