On October 12, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly adopted Resolution No. 422, on "Solidarity with Ukraine," at its session in Stavanger, Norway, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's press service reported on its official Facebook page. "They are aiming to assist us in this," it explained.

The text of the resolution states that “the Assembly reaffirms its support for the leadership and people of the State of Ukraine in their struggle for independence and territorial integrity, and also in their aspirations for European and Euro-Atlantic integration.”

The document also condemns the Russian Federation's veto of plans to establish an international tribunal to investigate the downing of flight MH17.

"[The NATO Parliamentary Assembly] calls on the leadership and parliaments of the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance to maintain the current sanctions regime against the Russian Federation in connection with the situation in eastern Ukraine until the Minsk agreements are fully implemented, and to maintain sanctions against Crimea/Sevastopol until the annexation is completed," the resolution states.

The NATO Parliamentary Assembly called on Ukraine's democratically elected politicians to continue to demonstrate the moderation and determination needed to build a tolerant society and to set the highest standards in political, financial, and judicial governance, with particular emphasis on addressing the issue of corruption.
