Australian actress and model Ruby Rose has accused famous American singer Katy Perry of sexual harassment at a nightclub, our website reports, citing Variety.
Ruby Rose, known for her roles in Batgirl and Orange Is the New Black, originally posted on Threads claiming Katy Perry "sexually assaulted" her at a Melbourne nightclub.
"Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at the Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne. Who cares what she thinks?" — Rose wrote.
Katy Perry's representative has already responded to this statement and provided an official comment to the publication.
"The allegations being spread on social media by Ruby Rose against Katy Perry are not only categorically false, but constitute dangerous, reckless lies.
Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making public accusations on social media against various individuals, which have been repeatedly denied by those she has named." — the singer’s representatives stated.
The publication has reached out to Rose's representative for additional comment.
Rose said the incident occurred when she was around twenty years old. She also noted that after the incident, Perry helped her obtain a US visa.
"So I kept it a secret. But I told you she was a bad person. I was in my early twenties, and now I'm 40. It took almost two decades to speak out about it publicly. While I'm incredibly grateful to have lived to this age and been able to speak out, it just goes to show how deeply trauma and sexual abuse have impacted my life," the actress said.
She added that she was "not interested in filing a report" regarding the incident.
As a reminder, 41-year-old Katy Perry is currently in a relationship with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The couple officially confirmed their romance last December. A few months prior, she split from actor Orlando Bloom, with whom she had a daughter.
