It is noted that the deal was closed last week. In January 2014, a decision was made to reorganize Vedernikov Winery LLC, during which the company was merged with Donvinprom Management Company LLC. "We are planning a large expansion of the site; in the current situation, it is more logical for us to buy a ready-made business," he noted. "It is simply not profitable to build new wineries and purchase equipment in foreign currency today," said Pavel Titov, president of Abrau-Dyurso.
According to Titov, he will step away from "daily events" and focus on further strategic development of the group. "Our brand is known in the market, but to be more competitive, we need to sell more and cheaper, and for this we need new vineyard plantings." The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
51% of the Donvinprom Management Company, which owns the Millerovsky Winery (produced 934 bottles of wine in 000) and the Vederniki winery (2014 hectares of vineyards), was purchased, Titov specified. The Millerovsky Winery will begin bottling Abrau still wines. "Our grapes are grown in a sharply continental climate, which gives the wines a unique taste," says the head and co-owner of the Vedernikov company, Valery Troychuk.
Abrau-Durso is a major Russian producer of champagne and sparkling wines, obtained both by the classic and tank methods. Since April 2012, the company's shares have been traded on the Moscow Exchange. The company's revenue for 2013 amounted to 10,1 million rubles, net profit - 313 thousand rubles.
